SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs have bolstered their roster with the additions of seasoned veterans Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes during the offseason. Both Paul and Barnes bring NBA Finals experience to a roster primarily consisting of players who have not yet seen playoff action, along with a wealth of knowledge to mentor the team’s younger talents.
In recent interviews, Paul and Barnes reflected on their expectations for the upcoming season and the process of joining the Spurs.
“I didn’t simply choose the Spurs—they chose me as well,” stated Paul. “The motivation for me is the opportunity to compete and play the game I love, especially under Coach Pop and with the team they have here. It feels like a great fit, and I’m excited for this new experience.”
Barnes remarked on the diverse age range on the team, emphasizing the importance of establishing good habits for personal improvement. “It’s about continuing to progress every day, focusing on internal growth rather than seeking external approval. This mindset is crucial for young players trying to establish themselves in the league.”
The Spurs have set a playoffs-or-bust mentality for the upcoming season, signaling their commitment to success.
