SAN ANTONIO – Tragedy struck the city’s South Side early Monday morning when a 68-year-old woman riding a bicycle was hit and killed by one or possibly two vehicles, according to San Antonio police.
Authorities were alerted to the incident just before 2:30 a.m. near Southton Road on Loop 410, at a convenience store.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident had stopped at the scene to assist the woman, but unfortunately, she had already passed away by the time police arrived.
The woman had been accompanied by a man while cycling, who noticed she was no longer behind him and went back to find her on the ground, according to police reports.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released as the investigation into the crash is ongoing, as confirmed by the authorities.
