Refreshed and Revived: WNBA Rookies Return from Olympic Break Ready to Compete

Caitlin Clark took full advantage of her time away from the U.S. Olympic team. She jetted off to Mexico, attended a friend’s wedding in Iowa, and even got an inside look at the New York Yankees’ clubhouse. Now, as she returns to practice with the Indiana Fever, Clark is feeling rested, revived, and ready to tackle the rest of the WNBA season.

For Clark and other members of this year’s standout rookie class, the nearly month-long Olympic break provided a much-needed break and a chance to regroup before the final push towards the playoffs.

“The break was very helpful in resetting and bonding with my teammates,” Clark shared. “I’ve felt more comfortable on the court in recent games, and I really needed that time off.”

Chicago Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon noted that rookies like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso returned re-energized after a whirlwind year of college basketball and their transition to the pros.

The break allowed these young stars to recuperate, bond with their teams, and prepare for the challenging push towards the playoffs. Now, Clark, Reese, and Cardoso are eager to get back on the court and showcase their skills.

The race to the playoffs is on, and these rookies are ready to make their mark in the league. Stay tuned for more exciting WNBA action as the season heats up!
