Early Wednesday morning, a man in his 50s was struck by a vehicle on the West Side of San Antonio. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 4600 block of Callaghan Road, near Ingram Road.
Reports from San Antonio police indicate that the man was trying to cross the street when he was hit by a vehicle heading westbound. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Thankfully, the driver did stop to provide assistance, and authorities do not anticipate filing charges as evidence suggests the driver tried to brake to avoid the collision.
As of now, the man’s identity remains unknown, and there is speculation that he may be homeless. The San Antonio Police Department, along with the Fire Department and EMS, responded to the emergency call.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, according to police.
