UTSA Roadrunners staying put in AAC despite Pac-12 attention

SAN ANTONIO – Exciting news for the University of Texas at San Antonio as they have officially reaffirmed their commitment to the American Athletic Conference, opting to stay in the conference despite interest from the Pac-12.

The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter) by the AAC, revealing that UTSA, along with the University of Memphis, the University of South Florida, and Tulane University, have all decided to remain in the conference.

The universities cited that their decision to stay in the AAC is aligned with their best interests and the collective commitment they have towards each other.

While other schools like Memphis, USF, and Tulane received offers from the Pac-12, they chose to decline and stick with the AAC.

Speculation had been circulating that UTSA might be considering a move to the Pac-12, but Monday’s announcement officially put an end to those rumors, as reported by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

UTSA initially joined the AAC in 2023 after a decade-long membership in Conference USA.
