University of Incarnate Word Student Designs Stunning Costume for SeaWorld’s Spooktacular Halloween Event

Daniela Mejia, a talented Fashion Design student at UIW, recently had the incredible opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind costume for SeaWorld’s Spooktacular Halloween event.

The daytime event at SeaWorld offers a fun and festive Halloween experience suitable for all ages.

Mejia spent 12 weeks collaborating with SeaWorld costume designers, from submitting initial sketches to carefully selecting fabrics and stitching together the final costume, now proudly displayed in the hay maze at the event.

Despite initial hesitation, Mejia decided to enter the competition after some encouragement from her sister, ultimately bringing the enchanting Pumpkin Patch Princess to life in collaboration with SeaWorld.

Hailing from Houston, Mejia commutes to UIW for her classes and aspires to one day own her own Quinceañera shop.

Reflecting on her experience, Mejia described her creation as “beautiful” and “breathtaking,” highlighting the joy and pride she felt in seeing her design come to life.
