LAS VEGAS – Exciting news for former UFC fighters as the organization has reached a new settlement. The UFC has agreed to pay $375 million to former fighters after a previous agreement was thrown out by a Nevada district judge.
Judge Richard Boulware dismissed a $335 million settlement with two antitrust lawsuits, including one brought by Cung Le. However, a new agreement has been reached with UFC parent company TKO Group Holdings and Le, who filed his lawsuit in 2014. The court still needs to approve the terms of this new settlement.
The UFC stated, “While we believe the original settlement was fair – a sentiment shared by Plaintiffs – we feel it is in the best interest of all parties to bring this litigation to a close.”
Despite this new agreement, the UFC has not yet reached a settlement with Kajan Johnson, who filed his lawsuit in 2021. The UFC confirmed that negotiations are still in early stages, with a motion to dismiss the complaint pending.
