BROOKLYN, Mich. – Tyler Reddick wins at Michigan International Speedway! The excitement of NASCAR’s playoffs continues as Reddick secures his spot in the postseason by leading on a restart in the second overtime at Michigan International Speedway.
Tyler Reddick has joined the ranks of 12 other drivers with guaranteed spots in the playoffs, leaving only four spots up for grabs in the upcoming races at Daytona and Darlington. Earlier this year, Reddick also claimed victory in a Cup Series race driving the No. 45 Toyota for 23XI, a team owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.
The final laps of the race were filled with action as Martin Truex Jr. spun out in his No. 19 Toyota, triggering a restart with only six laps to go.
On the second restart, Tyler Reddick seized the opportunity to pass William Byron and take the lead, ultimately clinching the victory.
Despite being the BetMGM Sportsbook favorite, Kyle Larson faced challenges during the race, losing control of his No. 5 Chevrolet early on and getting caught in a multi-car collision.
The intense race also saw Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace encountering setbacks, with Logano finishing 33rd and Larson in 35th out of a 36-car field.
As the season progresses, the competition is heating up with drivers vying for spots in the playoffs, setting the stage for more exhilarating races to come.
Stay tuned for more NASCAR action as the season reaches its climax at Daytona Beach and Darlington!
