Trump makes first campaign stop in Georgia after feud with Kemp ends

The Latest Updates from the 2024 Presidential Campaigns

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is making his first campaign visit to battleground Georgia since a feud between the former president and Republican Gov. Brian Kemp ended last month with Kemp endorsing Trump.

Trump is speaking in Savannah, Georgia, a crucial site with one of the busiest ports in the country. He plans to unveil incentives for foreign firms to relocate to the U.S., personally recruiting them and deploying members of his administration for the same purpose.

Georgia’s political landscape has become more competitive with Vice President Kamala Harris entering the race after President Joe Biden withdrew. Harris recently spoke in Atlanta, highlighting Trump’s stance on women’s rights as a significant issue for voters.

JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, is also targeting Georgia with a rally and visit to Macon later this week.

Several swing states have implemented new election laws, including Georgia mandating the manual counting of ballots and Wisconsin legalizing ballot drop boxes once again.

Harris Supports Abortion Rights Law, Asian American Voters Favorable

Vice President Kamala Harris backs eliminating the filibuster to pass a law guaranteeing abortion rights, a move supported by President Joe Biden. A recent survey shows strong support for Harris among Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander voters.

The survey indicates that Harris’s favorability among AAPI voters has increased since 2023, with many seeing her as a candidate who represents their views and background.

Trump’s recent interactions with farmers in Pennsylvania revealed a different side to the former president, while his campaign rallies continue to focus on attacking opponents like Harris.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz emphasizes the need for climate change action, criticizing Trump’s energy policies and praising Harris’s efforts in the Senate.

Walz and Vance are gearing up for their vice presidential debate with stand-ins like Pete Buttigieg and Tom Emmer for practice.

Stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 Presidential campaigns.
