Treshaun Ward stars in Boston College’s 28-13 upset win against No. 10 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Treshaun Ward put on a show against his former team, leading Boston College to a surprising 28-13 victory over No. 10 Florida State on Monday night. Ward, who previously played for Florida State, racked up 138 offensive yards, including a 13-yard touchdown catch.

The Tampa native had 77 yards rushing and 61 yards receiving as the Eagles dominated the ground game with 263 rushing yards. This spectacular performance marked a successful debut for BC coach Bill O’Brien, who took over the team earlier this year.

Boston College’s offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring on drives of 71, 68, and 60 yards, and capitalizing on turnovers to extend their lead. Florida State’s hopes for a playoff spot took a hit as they fell to 0-2 on the season.

In the match, BC quarterback Thomas Castellanos shined with 106 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 73 rushing yards, while Florida State struggled to generate any ground game, mustering only 21 rushing yards on 16 attempts.

Looking ahead, Boston College will face Duquesne next, while Florida State will have a bye week before hosting Memphis later in September.
