It’s not every day that a dispute over a trash can escalates into a stabbing, but that’s exactly what happened in a Southeast Side neighborhood in San Antonio. According to police reports, an argument erupted between neighbors over the placement of a trash can, ultimately leading to a violent altercation.
The incident took place in the 5400 block of Firestar Trial on a Friday morning. The dispute turned physical when one man, in his 30s, became enraged that his 39-year-old neighbor had placed his trash can next to his own. In a fit of anger, the man retreated into his mobile home, retrieved a knife, and proceeded to stab his neighbor multiple times before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and is set to undergo surgery. Authorities revealed that the suspect is the nephew of the woman living with the victim, who are reportedly romantically involved. Following the incident, San Antonio police launched a search for the suspect and deployed their EAGLE helicopter to aid in the search.
