Tito Jackson, Legendary Member of the Jackson 5, Passes Away at 70
Tito Jackson, one of the iconic brothers who formed the legendary pop group, the Jackson 5, has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
Tito was the third of nine Jackson children, joining the ranks of global superstars like Michael and Janet. The Jackson family’s music still holds a special place in the hearts of fans around the world.
His sons, TJ, Taj, and Taryll, shared a heartbreaking statement on Instagram announcing their father’s passing. They described Tito as an incredible man who always put others’ well-being above everything else.
The Jackson 5, comprised of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, achieved immense success with chart-topping hits like “ABC,” “I Want You Back,” and “I’ll Be There.” Their contributions to the music industry earned them a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
Born on October 15, 1953, Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson played a vital role as a background singer and guitarist in the group. While his siblings pursued solo careers, most notably Michael, Tito remained a steadfast member of the band.
Reflecting on the loss of his brother, Tito Jackson spoke about how Michael’s passing brought the family closer together. The void left by Michael’s absence is still deeply felt by the entire Jackson family.
Even after Michael’s death in 2009, Tito and his brothers continued to honor his legacy through their music. Performing without their beloved brother was never easy, but they found solace in knowing Michael’s spirit was always with them on stage.
Shortly before his passing, Tito visited a memorial to Michael in Munich, Germany, alongside his brothers Jackie and Marlon. The emotional visit served as a reminder of Michael’s enduring legacy and the bond they shared as siblings.
Tito Jackson’s musical journey extended beyond the Jackson 5, culminating in the release of his solo project, “Tito Time,” in 2016. He was actively working on new music, including a sophomore album, showcasing his commitment to his craft and legacy.
While Tito may be gone, his influence and love for music live on through his sons and their band, 3T. Together, they continue to spread positivity and unity through their music, carrying on the Jackson legacy for generations to come.
