SAN ANTONIO – Get ready for the most high-profile Olympic basketball game involving a San Antonio Spur in 20 years! The Rock at La Cantera will be hosting a special Watch Party for this momentous event.
Saturday marks the first time a Spur is expected to start in the gold medal game of a Summer Olympics since Manu Ginobili led Argentina to victory over Tim Duncan and the United States in 2004.
The French men’s basketball team, featuring San Antonio sensation Victor Wembanyama, faces a daunting task as they aim to win a gold medal against Team USA on their home turf.
If you’re a basketball fan, you won’t want to miss France vs. Team USA at The Rock at La Cantera. The Spurs are welcoming fans to watch the game for free on a 40-foot LED screen at Frost Plaza.
Along with the thrilling match, the watch party will include music by DJ Quake and a special appearance by Spurs mascot Coyote. It’s an event that’s free for all ages, with free parking available. Food and beverages will also be on offer for purchase.
The gold medal game tips off at 2:30 p.m., so make sure to mark your calendars!
