Texas QB Quinn Ewers Questionable for No. 1 Longhorns’ Next Game

Welcome to the latest update on Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers! Ewers is facing uncertainty for the upcoming game against Louisiana-Monroe after sustaining an abdominal strain during a recent match against UTSA. Coach Steve Sarkisian has labeled him as “questionable” for the game and is monitoring his progress day by day.

During the UTSA game, second-year freshman Arch Manning stepped in for Ewers and delivered an impressive performance, throwing four touchdowns and rushing for another. Manning could potentially make his first career start if Ewers is unable to play.

The injury Ewers suffered was non-contact, occurring on a deep pass play before he signaled to the medical staff for assistance. Despite the setback, Ewers was able to walk off the field with support and head to the locker room for further evaluation.

It’s a critical time for Texas football, as they hold the No. 1 ranking for the first time since 2008. Ewers, who had been gaining attention as a Heisman Trophy contender, showcased his skills in previous games, including a standout performance against Michigan.

On the other hand, Manning comes from a prestigious football family, being the son of Cooper Manning and part of the Manning football legacy with relatives like Archie Manning and Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.
