SAN ANTONIO – As we approach Labor Day weekend, law enforcement agencies are ramping up their efforts for Saturation Saturday in order to enhance traffic safety by cracking down on impaired drivers.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and San Antonio Police Department are joining forces with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to carry out this initiative.
Saturation Saturday was originally introduced in 2016 in Missouri and has since expanded to include law enforcement agencies in Illinois and New York, according to MADD’s website.
This year, SAPD and Bexar County are among 11 law enforcement agencies in the San Antonio area participating in this nationwide effort, as stated in a news release by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
