The Dramatic Showdown in New Braunfels: Shotgun-Wielding Suspect Takes on Police
A recent confrontation in New Braunfels has left the community stunned as a 63-year-old man allegedly pointed a shotgun at police officers. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the 1200 block of Roaring Falls, near Loop 337.
The suspect, who has not yet been named, barricaded himself inside a residence and brandished a shotgun through a window when police arrived at the scene. In a tense moment, one of the officers fired his weapon through the window, leading to a swift response from the suspect.
The situation escalated further when the suspect emerged from the house wielding a knife. Despite this, law enforcement officers were able to apprehend him safely and transport him to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Details surrounding the suspect’s injuries remain uncertain, as authorities continue to investigate the incident. Formal charges against the man will be pursued once he is released from the hospital.
The officer involved in the shooting is a veteran of the New Braunfels Police Department, with 17 years of service. He has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Texas Rangers.
