Summer-like temperatures are settling in, bringing us just shy of triple-digit highs. The next few days will see temperatures in the upper 90s, making it feel like we’re in record territory. The heat index will hover around 100° in the afternoons, reminding us that summer is not quite ready to leave.
Unfortunately, rain chances are slim, with only a 10% chance of showers on Sunday and Monday. However, the recent rainfall has brought some relief, as the updated drought monitor shows improvements from last week’s showers.
Take a look at the drought monitor snapshot from 9/12/24 to see the progress that has been made. Remember to stay cool and hydrated during this late-season heatwave. Stay tuned for more updates and stay safe under the sun.
