Suki Waterhouse Unveils New Album, “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin”
NEW YORK – Suki Waterhouse stumbled upon the Sparklemuffin spider during a late-night browsing session.
“He’s wildly colored. He’s cute,” she said. Best of all: He dances. “I felt somewhat akin to him.”
The spider became a muse for Waterhouse’s latest album, “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin,” set to release on Friday.
Following her debut album “I Can’t Let Go” in 2022 and her role as keyboardist Karen Sirko in “Daisy Jones and the Six,” Waterhouse’s new record delves into themes of love, heartbreak, and her experiences in the music industry.
In a recent interview, Waterhouse shared insights into her creative process, experiences, and the inspiration behind her music.
AP: Much of “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin” was written while you were pregnant. How did that influence your music?
WATERHOUSE: The physical limitations during pregnancy actually shaped the album in a positive way. It allowed me to focus and work from home studio setups, which I prefer over big studios. The deadline to finish the record before the baby’s arrival added an extra motivation.

AP: What are you looking forward to most on your upcoming tour?
WATERHOUSE: There’s nothing better than having a bunch of new songs that you love so much and you feel like you’re putting together a show that’s like a whole level up, that you couldn’t have even dreamed of a year ago, you know?
