The streets of San Antonio were shaken with violence once again as a shooting erupted in the parking lot of a Northeast Side Burger King on Tuesday afternoon. According to San Antonio police, a man was shot during a dispute that escalated in the fast-food restaurant’s parking lot.
The incident took place in the 4600 block of Rittiman Road, close to Interstate 35, as officers rushed to the scene in response to a shooting call just before 2:30 p.m. Police investigations revealed that the altercation began as an argument between two individuals in separate vehicles, eventually escalating when a third person arrived in another vehicle and shot the victim.
The shooter quickly fled the scene and was picked up by a different vehicle, leaving authorities to search for their whereabouts. The victim sustained a gunshot wound near the groin area and was promptly taken to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported, but officers did discover five shell casings at the scene.
In a haunting twist, investigators are unsure if this latest incident is related to a fatal shooting that occurred just days prior at the nearby Taco Cabana. The victim in that tragedy was identified as a 52-year-old man named Carlos Harlan Moore.
