SAN ANTONIO – A driver was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after experiencing a medical episode, causing a collision that involved another vehicle and an electric pole.
The incident took place around 12:45 p.m. along the Loop 410 access road and Broadway Street.
The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) reported that the driver was heading eastbound on the access road when the medical episode occurred, causing them to lose control of the vehicle, hit the median, and collide with another vehicle traveling northbound on Broadway.
Subsequently, the driver also struck an electric pole after the initial collision.
The driver, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
As a result of the incident, traffic on Broadway leading up to the Loop 410 access road was affected and moving slowly.
SAPD confirmed that their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
