The Crackdown on Jugging: Three Suspects Arrested in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Three suspects were arrested by San Antonio Police Friday evening as the department cracks down on “jugging.”

Jugging is a form of theft in which criminals wait for people who are withdrawing money from a bank or an ATM, follow them, and rob victims of that money.

San Antonio police arrested 20-year-old Jacoby Williams, 25-year-old Dontrel Trayon Clark, and 25-year-old Broderick Craig Graves on Friday evening for their involvement in jugging activities.

The trio had been observed watching people leave a bank, although the specific location of the incident was not disclosed by the police.

According to authorities, the suspects targeted a victim who had withdrawn cash from a bank, followed them to a second location, and attempted to break into the victim’s car after the victim left an envelope containing money inside.

Camelia Juarez, a public information officer with SAPD, emphasized the importance of publicly arresting the suspects to raise awareness about the growing threat of jugging in San Antonio.

Juarez highlighted that the arrested individuals were repeat offenders with a history of theft charges and a well-established modus operandi for committing crimes.

The San Antonio Police Department is actively working to combat jugging incidents by closely monitoring individuals suspected of engaging in this criminal activity.

In light of these recent arrests, SAPD advises the public to exercise caution when carrying large sums of money and to take steps to secure their valuables when in public spaces.
