The Dangers of Road Rage: Man Arrested for Shooting Over Parking Spot
SAN ANTONIO – In a shocking incident that highlights the dangers of road rage, San Antonio police arrested a man on Saturday after he allegedly shot another man over a parking spot at a convenience store on the Northwest Side.
The shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. at the QuikTrip located in the 4700 block of Fredericksburg Road. Police were called to the scene and discovered a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
According to initial reports from the San Antonio Police Department, the altercation between the victim and the suspect started as a verbal argument and escalated into a physical confrontation over the coveted parking spot. It was during this altercation that the suspect drew a weapon, fired several shots at the victim, and then fled the scene.
Law enforcement officers were able to track down the suspect’s vehicle at a nearby apartment complex. They located the 34-year-old suspect inside an apartment and took him into custody.
The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
