San Antonio police seek suspected car thief on NW Side

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are actively searching for a suspect involved in a car theft on the Northwest Side.

The incident unfolded on Monday morning when a vehicle was reported stolen at Rock Creek Run, near I-10 and Callaghan Road.

The owners of the vehicle took matters into their own hands and pursued the stolen car. At some point, the owner’s son even fired a gun at the fleeing vehicle, according to police reports.

After the ordeal, the suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle and made a run for it on foot. Investigators believe the suspect sustained injuries during the escape, although it remains uncertain whether the gunshot fired by the owner’s son caused these injuries.

Description of the suspect includes a white T-shirt and dark shorts, as provided by the police. The search is intensifying with multiple officers and a helicopter joining the effort.
