SAINT HEDWIG, Texas – A Brahma bull made a surprise appearance in several front yards in Saint Hedwig in the middle of the night, caught on home cameras by three neighbors.
Abbie Gentry and her neighbors were taken aback by the unexpected visitor. Shuron Smith humorously complained about the bull munching on one of her plants, jokingly asking, “Who got beef?”
These sightings have become more common in Saint Hedwig since new housing developments popped up post-COVID-19. Jayme, a local resident, reflected on the encroachment of urban development on once free-roaming farmlands.
As residents chuckled about the bull’s antics, the practicality of insurance coverage for such incidents was also brought up. Gentry pondered how to explain a bull breaking into her home to her insurance provider.
Despite the occasional bovine intrusion, neighbors like Smith appreciate the tranquility of living in the area. She remarked, “I’ll take a cow eating up my grass over random city dangers any day.”
While the bull’s visits may spark some laughter and conversations, residents in Saint Hedwig are hopeful that ranchers can ensure their animals stay within their pastures in the future.
