SAFD: One injured in South Side home fire

SAN ANTONIO – A scary situation unfolded on the city’s South Side as a fire broke out at a home, leaving one person injured, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

Crews rushed to the scene on Yett Avenue after receiving a distress call just before 3 p.m. The fire originated in the garage of the home while the occupants were away.

The homeowners returned to find their garage engulfed in flames. With quick thinking, they dialed 911 while neighbors helped in containing the fire until firefighters could arrive on the scene.

Although firefighters initially believed the fire was limited to the garage, they worked diligently to prevent it from spreading to neighboring houses. One person was taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

As of now, it is unclear what caused the fire, according to officials.
