Sabalenka defeats Keys at China Open, ties career-best win streak

Aryna Sabalenka Extends Winning Streak to 15 Matches with China Open Victory

Aryna Sabalenka, currently ranked second in the world, continued her impressive run of form by defeating Madison Keys 6-4, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the China Open. This victory marked Sabalenka’s 15th consecutive win, tying her career-best winning streak.

The three-time Grand Slam winner kicked off her streak by claiming the title at Cincinnati in August, followed by a triumphant run at the U.S. Open last month. She also added an Australian Open title earlier this year. Sabalenka expressed her joy at her recent success, stating, “When you’re able to sacrifice a lot and you’re able to work hard and you’re able to get these wins, that’s the best feeling.”

During her current streak, Sabalenka has won 30 of 31 sets played, showcasing her dominance on the court. In her match against Keys, Sabalenka broke her opponent early in the first set and maintained control throughout the match. Despite Keys’ strong play, Sabalenka’s exceptional serving and composure led her to victory.

Next, Sabalenka is set to face Karolina Muchova in the quarterfinals after Muchova’s convincing win in the previous round. As the tournament progresses, fans are eagerly anticipating more thrilling matchups and impressive performances.

In the men’s competition, the top-ranked Jannik Sinner is scheduled to clash with rival Carlos Alcaraz in the final. Both players have had remarkable seasons, capturing all four Grand Slam titles between them. Alcaraz currently leads their head-to-head series, setting the stage for another exciting encounter on the court.

Despite off-court distractions, including reports of a potential doping ban, Sinner has remained focused on his game and aims to overcome Alcaraz in their upcoming showdown. Tennis enthusiasts are looking forward to witnessing the battle between these two talented players.

Moreover, other notable players, such as Gael Monfils and Arthur Rinderknech, have also made positive starts in the tournament, highlighting the depth of talent on display at the China Open. The competition promises more thrilling matches as it progresses, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

For tennis enthusiasts and sports fans alike, the China Open continues to deliver captivating moments and exceptional performances, cementing its status as a must-watch event on the tennis calendar.

Stay tuned for more updates and results from the China Open as the action unfolds.
