Russian-Ukrainian Conflict Update: Ukrainian Drones Cause Massive Fire in Russian Oil Depot

Russian authorities are currently facing challenges in extinguishing a massive fire in the southern Rostov region, which has been burning for three consecutive days. The fire broke out at an oil depot in the town of Proletarsk after being hit by Ukrainian drones, as Ukrainian forces advance into Russia’s Kursk region.

The blaze has engulfed an area of 10,000 square meters, with 500 firefighters on the scene. Unfortunately, 41 firefighters have already been hospitalized due to injuries sustained during the operation.

The Ukrainian Army General Staff has claimed responsibility for the attack on the oil depot, citing it as a strategic move to undermine the military and economic capabilities of Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has highlighted the success of the ongoing Kursk incursion, which has resulted in the capture of a significant number of Russian prisoners. This operation aims to create a buffer zone to prevent further Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that Ukrainian forces have captured 1,250 square kilometers and 92 settlements in Russia’s Kursk region, marking a significant territorial gain.

While celebrating victories in Kursk, Ukrainian troops are facing challenges in the Donbas region, where they are under pressure from advancing Russian forces towards the city of Pokrovsk.
