Rudy Giuliani Disbarred in Washington Following Loss of License in New York
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was disbarred in Washington on Thursday, marking another legal blow after losing his law license in New York. This disbarment stems from Giuliani’s involvement in promoting false claims made by former President Donald Trump regarding the 2020 presidential election results.
The brief ruling from Washington D.C.’s appeals court highlighted Giuliani’s failure to respond to an order demanding an explanation for his actions, leading to his disbarment in Washington.
Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani, condemned the decision as “an absolute travesty and a total miscarriage of justice.” He urged members of the legal community to denounce the politically motivated ruling.
In July, the Manhattan appeals court revoked Giuliani’s law license in New York for repeatedly spreading falsehoods about Trump’s election defeat. Giuliani maintained that he believed the claims he advocated on behalf of the Trump campaign were valid.
