The Jets Dominate the Patriots in Home Opener

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes in a superb homecoming performance, and New York’s defense was dominant as the Jets rolled to a 24-3 victory over the New England Patriots in their home opener on Thursday night.

Rodgers, who started his first game at MetLife Stadium since his injury last year, showed no signs of slowing down, finishing with 281 yards passing and two touchdowns.

The Jets, who ended an eight-game home losing streak against the Patriots, also saw a strong performance from their rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who made his NFL debut in the game.

New York’s defense, led by Breece Hall, sacked Jacoby Brissett five times and held the Patriots to just three points.

Rodgers orchestrated scoring drives with precision, connecting with Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard for touchdowns. The Jets’ offense looked sharp, scoring at least three touchdowns for the third straight game.

The game was lopsided in favor of the Jets, outgaining the Patriots significantly in the first half and holding them to just 40 total yards.

Injuries impacted both teams, with Patriots’ Alex Austin and Michael Jordan leaving due to injuries and the Jets’ Morgan Moses also getting injured.

Next up, the Patriots will face San Francisco, while the Jets will host Denver.
