Solving the Fatal Hit-and-Run: Crime Stoppers Offers Reward
SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers and San Antonio police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run on the Northwest Side.
On September 12, Maria Martinez, 67, tragically lost her life when she was struck by a truck while crossing the street in the 500 block of Babcock Road. The area was not well-lit, and she was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man, stopped to help Martinez, but then a driver in a light-colored SUV hit both of them. The SUV driver fled the scene, and Crime Stoppers are seeking information on this vehicle, described as gray.
Despite efforts to save her, Martinez succumbed to her injuries, while the truck driver was taken to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.
