Lytle Independent School District Receives $315,809 Fund for School Safety
Exciting news for the Lytle Independent School District as they secure a $315,809 fund aimed at enhancing safety measures across their schools. This much-needed boost comes as a significant step towards creating a more secure and supportive learning environment for students and staff.
The announcement was made by Rep. Henry Cuellar, who emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe school environment for all. With the ever-present threats and risks in today’s world, these funds will enable Lytle ISD to effectively respond to any security issues that may arise.
The funding is part of the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) for 2023. This program aims to provide school districts with the necessary resources to enhance security on school grounds.
Lytle ISD is already in the process of implementing improved security measures district-wide, and this new funding will further strengthen their capabilities in addressing security threats. From bullet-resistant film for windows to upgraded security cameras and badge access systems, the funds will support a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing security within the district.
Rep. Cuellar stressed the importance of prioritizing these initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of students. By investing in school safety, we not only create a secure learning environment but also foster a sense of community and belonging among students and staff.
The funds will also support the hiring of tech personnel to monitor and install security systems, further enhancing the district’s overall security infrastructure. This commitment to school safety reflects Lytle ISD’s dedication to providing a safe and supportive environment for all members of the school community.
