Breaking News: Patrick Mahomes Sr. Pleads Guilty to DWI Charge
The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has pleaded guilty to a drunken driving charge in Texas. Smith County District Court records reveal that Patrick Mahomes Sr., 54, entered a guilty plea in Tyler for driving while intoxicated. The specifics of the plea deal have not been disclosed, but reports suggest a five-year suspended sentence.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23, with neither Mahomes’ attorney nor the county district attorney available for immediate comment.
Earlier this year, Mahomes Sr. was arrested on a felony DWI charge in Tyler, Texas, just days before his son secured a second consecutive Super Bowl championship for the Chiefs. This latest charge marks his third DWI offense, with an additional citation in July for driving with an invalid license.
Aside from being the father of a football legend, Patrick Mahomes Sr. is a former Major League Baseball pitcher, boasting an impressive 11-year career that spanned six different teams until his retirement in 2003.
