Packers’ Love sidelined against Colts with knee injury.

Jordan Love to Miss Game Against Colts Due to Injury

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Unfortunately, the Green Bay Packers will be without their quarterback, Jordan Love, for Sunday’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts. Love is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in the team’s season opener.

Love is inactive for this game, making it the first time he has missed a game due to injury since becoming the starting QB last year. He had been unable to practice all week after injuring his left medial collateral ligament in the final series of the Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6 in Brazil.

Replacing Love will be Malik Willis, who joined the Packers less than three weeks ago in a trade with the Tennessee Titans. Willis, a 2022 third-round pick from Liberty, will make his first start for Green Bay after only three previous starts during his rookie season with the Titans.

Backing up Willis will be Sean Clifford, who has been activated from the practice squad for this game.

Despite Love’s absence, the Packers will face a Colts secondary that is also dealing with injuries, missing safety Julian Blackmon and cornerback JuJu Brents. Blackmon is out with a shoulder injury, while Brents was placed on injured reserve this week after hurting his knee in a game against the Houston Texans.

Other players unavailable for the Colts include wide receiver Josh Downs and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who is playing despite being questionable with a back issue.

For the Packers, wide receiver Jayden Reed and rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd had initially been listed as questionable but are available for the game. Reed had an impressive performance against the Eagles, with four catches for 138 yards and multiple touchdowns.

This game will mark the NFL debut for Lloyd, who missed the previous game due to a hamstring injury.

Joining Love on the Packers’ inactive list are safety Kitan Oladapo, defensive lineman Brenton Cox Jr., offensive tackles Andre Dillard and Travis Glover, and defensive lineman Colby Wooden.

Meanwhile, the Colts’ inactive players include Blackmon, Downs, defensive end Genard Avery, guard Tanor Bortolini, quarterback Sam Ehlinger, offensive tackle Blake Freeland, and tight end Will Mallory.
