Revolutionizing College Football with QR Codes on Helmets
Oklahoma State football is making waves this season with a groundbreaking initiative. The team will be wearing QR codes on their helmets, linking to the general team fund to boost their name, image, and likeness earnings.
This innovative move will debut in their season opener against South Dakota State on August 31, marking the first time a college football team will sport QR codes during regular-season games.
Known as the “Saddle Up Campaign” and organized by Pokes With A Purpose, this initiative aims to revolutionize the way fans can support their favorite team. Head coach Mike Gundy expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This is a revolutionary step forward to help keep Oklahoma State football ahead of the game.”
The QR codes will be discreet 1.5-square-inch decals featuring each player’s name and number. While not visible from the stands, they will be prominently featured in broadcast shots and social media posts, allowing fans worldwide to engage with the NIL efforts for Cowboy football.
Additionally, the QR codes will also appear on each player’s bag tag, carried during pregame rituals and travel, further enhancing fan interaction and support for the team.
Ranked No. 17 in the AP Top 25, Oklahoma State enters the season with high expectations and a forward-thinking approach to enhancing player earnings and fan engagement.
