SAN ANTONIO – The 2024-25 school year is just around the corner. Northside ISD teachers, faculty, and staff are preparing for children to roam the school hallways.

Another group gearing up for the upcoming school year is substitute teachers. District officials have stated a perpetual need for substitutes.

“Even though we have a substantial pool of substitutes, we are always looking for more,” said Kittiya Johnson, NISD’s human resources director for auxiliary/classified/substitute employees.

Johnson, who was a former substitute teacher, emphasized the importance of helping children grow and making a difference in their lives.

Northside ISD will welcome teachers, faculty, and staff on Aug. 12, with students returning to classrooms on Aug. 19.
