Suni Williams, the first woman to serve as a test pilot for a new spacecraft, has a diverse background that has shaped her journey to the stars. Growing up in Needham, Massachusetts, Williams always had a passion for flying and served in a Navy helicopter squadron during the Gulf War era.
Williams has set numerous records during her space missions, including performing seven spacewalks and even running the Boston Marathon on a station treadmill. Her husband Michael Williams and her widowed mother provide unwavering support as she continues to push the boundaries of space exploration.
