TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Jalen Milroe led No. 4 Alabama to a 42-16 victory over South Florida with two rushing touchdowns and two fourth-quarter passing scores on Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide (2-0) faced a tough challenge from the Bulls (1-1) throughout the game but turned it on in the final minutes to secure the win. Head coach Kalen DeBoer’s team struggled offensively until the fourth quarter but exploded for 28 points to seal the victory.

Alabama had multiple turnovers and penalties, entering the final quarter with just a one-point lead. However, Milroe’s two touchdown passes and big runs from Jamarion Miller and Justice Haynes helped the Tide pull away.

Miller finished the game with 140 rushing yards, contributing significantly to Alabama’s offensive success.

This game was a rematch of last year’s tight contest, with South Florida once again proving to be a challenging opponent for the Crimson Tide.

Despite some struggles, Milroe finished the game with 199 passing yards and two crucial touchdown throws.

South Florida’s Byrum Brown put up a solid performance, passing for 103 yards and rushing for 108 yards.

Key Takeaways

South Florida put on a competitive showing in front of a large crowd but missed opportunities to score, while Alabama’s performance was marred by penalties and turnovers.

Poll Implications

Alabama is expected to maintain its ranking after a strong finish to the game.
