LOS ANGELES – The recent tragedy involving former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor has shocked and saddened many. Two men charged with his murder, Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada, both 18, pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles court. The incident took place when Wactor interrupted thieves stealing the catalytic converter from his car and was shot dead on May 25.
Barceleau and Estrada, along with a third defendant Frank Olano, are facing charges of murder, grand theft, and attempted robbery. Meanwhile, Leonel Gutierrez is expected to enter a plea next month for his involvement in grand theft and attempted robbery, although not directly linked to Wactor’s death.
The investigation into Wactor’s murder led to the arrest of the four men on Aug. 15 and subsequent charges on Aug. 19. Barceleau faces special circumstances charges that could result in a life sentence without parole if convicted, while Estrada is looking at a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The entire incident has left the entertainment industry and the city of Los Angeles in shock, with many calling for justice for Wactor and his family. Stay tuned for further updates as the legal proceedings continue.
