Shocking Incident in Schertz: Man Arrested After Running Toward School with Knife

In a disturbing event on Tuesday morning, a man was apprehended by police in Schertz after being spotted carrying a knife and running towards a school.

The Schertz Police Department responded to a call of a “violent disturbance” near the access road in the 21600 block of Interstate 35 just before 8 a.m.

Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered a man wielding a knife who then dropped the weapon and fled towards the Schertz School of Science and Technology, prompting a brief lockdown.

The suspect, identified as Raul Aragon, 46, was swiftly taken into custody by police, with no reported injuries.

Described as homeless, Aragon had recently been released from prison and is a registered sex offender.

He was transported to the Comal County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and failure to register as a sex offender.
