COMPTON, Calif. – A heartbreaking story unfolded in a Los Angeles courtroom as Freddie Trone, 42, was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison for orchestrating a robbery that led to the tragic death of rapper PnB Rock.
Trone’s son, a teenager at the time, was sent into a restaurant to rob and fatally shoot PnB Rock. The incident occurred at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles, where the young man attacked the hip-hop star, whose real name was Rakim Allen, and stole his jewelry. This senseless act of violence not only took the life of a talented artist but also left a lasting impact on his loved ones.
District Attorney George Gascón expressed his condolences, acknowledging the profound loss suffered by Allen’s family, friends, and fans. The courtroom was filled with emotion as Deannea Allen, PnB Rock’s mother, spoke about the devastation caused by Trone’s actions. She emphasized the ripple effect of such violence and described her son as a shining light within their family.
While Trone’s son, who was also involved in the crime, is currently in the custody of the juvenile system, his father faced the consequences of his heinous deeds in court. Trone’s lawyer intends to appeal the verdict, arguing that there was no evidence of his client conspiring to commit murder.
The music industry mourns the loss of PnB Rock, known for hits like “Selfish” and collaborations with artists like YFN Lucci and Ed Sheeran. His untimely death at the age of 30 has left a void in the hearts of many.
