MANCHESTER – Exciting news for Manchester United fans as the club has officially signed two talented players from Bayern Munich. Netherlands center back Matthijs de Ligt and Morocco full back Noussair Mazraoui are set to join the Red Devils.
Matthijs de Ligt, 25, has agreed to a five-year deal with the option to extend for a further year, while Noussair Mazraoui, 26, has signed a contract until June 2028, also with the option to extend. Reports suggest that United is paying a hefty sum of 60 million pounds ($77 million) for both players.
In addition to these signings, United has bid farewell to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has moved to Premier League rival West Ham for a reported fee of 15 million pounds ($19 million). Wan-Bissaka’s departure marks the end of a five-year spell at United, and he will now compete with Vladimir Coufal for the right-back position at West Ham.
Furthermore, United has strengthened its defense further by acquiring 18-year-old center back Leny Yoro from Lille for 62 million euros ($68 million) earlier in the transfer window, completing a major overhaul of the team’s defensive lineup.
Exciting times lie ahead for Manchester United as they gear up for the upcoming season with these new additions to their squad.
