SAN ANTONIO – In a dramatic turn of events early Tuesday morning, a man was arrested after accelerating his vehicle toward Texas Department of Public Safety troopers in San Antonio.
The confrontation unfolded around 10:20 a.m. on Monday when DPS troopers attempted to pull over the driver of a red pickup truck with stolen license plates on the Northwest Side near Interstate 10 and Wurzbach Road.
As the troopers approached the truck, the man suddenly accelerated towards them, prompting one of the troopers to open fire, according to DPS.
San Antonio police later apprehended the man around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday near De Zavala and Interstate 10. The charges against him have not been disclosed, but the Texas Rangers were involved in the incident.
