Man allegedly sets ex-girlfriend’s car ablaze: deputies

A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody for allegedly setting his ex-girlfriend’s car on fire, as reported by the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Rashaad Malik McIntyre is facing charges of arson and harassment in connection with the incident that occurred in Converse just before 2 a.m. last Saturday.

Investigation revealed that the car was deliberately set ablaze, likely using an ignitable liquid accelerant. The victim reported receiving threats from her ex-boyfriend, McIntyre.

Two arrest warrants were issued for McIntyre, who was apprehended without resistance. During his arrest, authorities discovered a firearm with an extended magazine containing 29 rounds of ammunition.

McIntyre has been detained at the Bexar County Jail and may face additional charges related to firearm possession.

Fire Marshal Chris Lopez emphasized the link between arson-related crimes and violent acts, highlighting the importance of preventing such incidents from escalating.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather information.
