LA Sparks part ways with coach Miller after 2 losing seasons.

LOS ANGELES – After four consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs, coach Curt Miller is parting ways with the Los Angeles Sparks in search of new leadership.

The decision to dismiss Miller was announced by the team on Tuesday, citing a mutual agreement to end their collaboration.

With three WNBA championships under their belt, the Sparks are now on the hunt for a fresh coaching perspective.

Despite a challenging season with multiple injuries, including standout rookie Cameron Brink, the team struggled with an 8-32 record. However, bright spots emerged with players like Dearica Hamby receiving All-Star honors and The Associated Press Most Improved Player award, along with Rickea Jackson’s inclusion in the AP All-Rookie Team.

Miller, with a coaching record of 165-141 in the WNBA, previously led the Connecticut Sun to two consecutive Finals appearances in 2019 and 2022, making him a respected figure in the league.

Reflecting on his time with the Sparks, Miller expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the team’s growth and future success, wishing the players well in the upcoming 2025 season.
