Meet Phil Purvis: NEISD’s Texas School Bus Roadeo Champion
As North East ISD students return to class, the unsung heroes of the district are the bus drivers ensuring they get to and from school safely. One of these drivers is Phil Purvis, a long-time driver and trainer for NEISD. Purvis is not just any driver – he is the reigning Texas School Bus Roadeo champion, showcasing his exceptional skill and dedication to the job.
Recently, Purvis put KSAT’s RJ Marquez behind the wheel to test his driving skills and give him a glimpse into the world of a bus driver. The experience was eye-opening and shed light on the challenges these drivers face every day.
