KERRVILLE, Texas – KSAT is shining a light on the concerns of residents in various South Texas towns as the 2024 presidential election approaches in the new series, “Your Voice, South Texas.”
This week’s episode transports us to Kerrville, a charming Hill Country city situated in Kerr County. Despite the county’s solid conservative leanings, our exploration revealed that residents are more preoccupied with local issues.

We engaged with locals at Pint & Plow, a popular brewery/restaurant/coffee shop at the heart of Kerrville. The residents of Kerrville, a community of 24,000 people, shared how the area has undergone significant changes in recent times.
“Kerrville is a lot more diverse than probably Kerrville knows,” commented Leslie Jones.
“I’m voting [this November] for Ms. Harris…because I believe she’s the best person for the country. I don’t align myself with a specific political party. I always vote based on my convictions – for the person who I think can lead America the best,” expressed Clifton Fifer, Jr.
At 71 years old, Fifer is a retired educator who has deep roots in Kerrville.
Sharon Davis disclosed her intention to vote for former president Donald Trump.
“Personally, I don’t care for him…he tends to be too extreme in belittling others. I don’t condone demeaning others to elevate oneself. But in terms of finances, the man knows how to generate wealth.”
“I don’t associate myself with the Republican or Democratic party,” stated Jeremy Walther, the proprietor of Pint & Plow.
Despite the varying political viewpoints in Kerrville, we discovered a shared commitment to local matters. This solidarity was evident in late July when severe rainfall resulted in flooding in Kerrville, damaging around a dozen residences. The community rallied together to aid those affected.
