CONVERSE, Texas – The Judson Rockets are gearing up for an exciting new season under the leadership of head coach Mark Soto, a proud Judson alum. The team is on a mission to recapture its former glory, with senior players playing a crucial role in guiding the younger members.
“Our senior class has really embraced their roles as leaders,” Soto commented. “They’ve been exceptional mentors to the younger players, like older siblings, which has been incredibly valuable for us.”
Ranked No. 41 in Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Class 6A preseason rankings, Judson is predicted to finish second in District 29-6A, trailing behind the Steele Knights.
The Rockets boast seven returning offensive starters from last season, along with six defensive starters. QB Elijah Favela, now in his third year as a starter, brings experience to the team. Watch out for standout players like LB Jordan Dukes, DB DeVaughn L’Herisse, and DB Izziek Chandler, who are expected to lead the defense.
