SAN ANTONIO – Exciting developments are taking place in Bexar County as county commissioners have finalized a contract with CGS to mail out voter registration forms to eligible voters. This move aims to increase voter turnout and ensure that eligible voters in the area are registered.
A recent hearing was held regarding a motion for a temporary restraining order and injunction filed by the state Attorney General’s office to stop this action. Legal representatives for both parties presented their arguments during the hearing.
While the state Attorney General’s Office raised concerns about the legality of the contract with CGS and the possibility of unauthorized voters, Bexar County emphasized the importance of increasing voter participation in the area, especially for individuals who have recently moved within the county or to Bexar County.
Despite the objections, the contract with CGS has been finalized, and voter registration forms have already been sent out. The exact number of forms mailed out is not yet known.
“The county is committed to increasing voter turnout and will continue with its plans to do so,” stated Judge Peter Sakai during the proceedings. This story is ongoing, and more updates will be provided as the case progresses.
