Jaxson Dart leads No. 5 Mississippi to 40-6 victory over Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 5 Mississippi football team showcased an impressive performance as they dominated Wake Forest with a 40-6 victory on Saturday. Jaxson Dart led the charge with 377 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Henry Parrish Jr. added 148 rushing yards and two TDs.

Not only did Dart shine in the passing game, but he also rushed for a 13-yard touchdown. Tre Harris had a remarkable game, with 11 receptions for 127 yards, and Jordan Watkins caught a 75-yard TD pass. The Rebels (3-0) outgained the Demon Deacons 650-311 in total yards.

Mississippi’s defense proved to be formidable, limiting Wake Forest (1-2) to just 46 rushing yards on 32 carries and keeping them out of the end zone for the third consecutive game. The Rebels’ dominance was evident throughout the matchup.

Hank Bachmeier put up a valiant effort for Wake Forest, finishing with 239 passing yards on 22-of-39 attempts.

Mississippi’s strong start to the season continued with victories over Furman and Middle Tennessee State before this convincing win against a major conference opponent. The Rebels made a statement from the opening drive and never looked back.

Dart’s exceptional performance in the first quarter set the tone for the game, as he displayed his arm strength and accuracy. Parrish also made significant contributions, scoring multiple touchdowns to extend Mississippi’s lead early on.

The Rebels’ all-around effort, highlighted by key plays on both sides of the ball, sealed the victory and showcased their potential for a successful season.
