SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday morning at a residence on the city’s Northwest Side.

The authorities were alerted to the situation at the 100 block of Fordham Avenue at 8:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a burglary in progress.

According to the police, an individual attempted to break into the house, prompting another occupant to defend themselves by firing two shots at the intruder’s upper leg. The injured man was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital by EMS.

Following the incident, two individuals from inside the residence were brought in for questioning. However, one of them initially refused to cooperate with law enforcement, leading to a two-hour standoff at the scene until they eventually surrendered.

The San Antonio Police Department is actively continuing their investigation into the matter.
